Ostensibly 'acek' means "ascend" or more probably "pulled up". However, very little contextual evidence exists for this interpretation, as it is a [[hapax legomenon]] attested only by a much later [[Aramaic]] form.

Typically the act of ascension is signified by [[yel]], leaving some doubt as to the true meaning of 'acek'.
