'arebeh' means a swarm of locusts. The word is a conjunction of [[areb]] ("ambush") and [[rebeh]] ("multiply"), and cleverly refers to the characteristic way that a swarm of locust will suddenly appear in the millions to strip the land of all living vegetation.
