'kep' appears to be a somewhat generalized term indicating a concave shape, essentially a socket. It appears in a few mechanical and engineering contexts, often in conjunction with the tabernacle and its components, as well as many physiological uses such as "the palm of the hand", "the ball of the foot" and "the socket of the hip".

Oddly, the word [[aden]] is also translated as "socket"

Usage examples:
  *Genesis 8:9 - but no found the dove resting place for **the sole of her foot** and she returned to him into the ark
  *Genesis 20:5 - did not he say my sister she [is] and she even herself said my brother He [is] in the integrity of my heart and innocence **of my hands** have I done this
