'oyop' means "flying". 

Although most translations render 'oyop' as "birds", the adjective "flying" fits the contextual usage much more cleanly.

Many references to 'oyop', including [[oyop semim]] and [[mayim oyop]] strikingly non-birdlike. 

Rather than 'oyop', [[xeper]] is the Hebrew word for "bird".
