'qes' means "pain". This word is often used to describe the pain of childbirth.

In an interesting example of a [[cognate]] phrase, rather than a cognate word, the English phrase "pain in the neck" appears to have originated from the phrase 'qes [[yerep]]' which literally means "pain neck".((see
