What is a Strong Number?

Strong Numbers (or Strong's Numbers) are the numbers used by [[wp>James Strong (theologian)]] for his [[Concordance]].

They essentially performed the same task as an index in our modern databases; a good way to reference other data: the words themselves.

In most cases our Lexicon ID matches the Strongnumber for a given Hebrew spelling, but our pronunciations may differ slightly, based on etymological evidence, and our definitions at times differ dramatically based on etymological and contextual analysis.
