Although it is often translated as "eternity", Mauro Biglino, former chief translator for the Vatican, has pointed out that the word generally carries with it a spatial rather than temporal reference.

Mauro further states that the personal plural form [[yolemim]] should be understood as "the universe" or all those dwelling within the universe. Strictly speaking though, a literal interpretation would be "the Beyond Ones" or "the People of the Beyond".
