hikel

היכל

Meaning: “palace”

Although most instances of 'hikel' refer to the Temple of Ihoh in Jerusalem, there are a number of instances where 'hikel' clearly indecates the palace of a specific king. Therefore, “palace” is a better fit for a generalized meaning, and the temple of Ihoh is therefore considered a palace for Ihoh. This is consistent with many descriptions of the temple as the “dwelling place of Ihoh”.
