kep

כפ

'kep' appears to be a somewhat generalized term indicating a concave shape, essentially a socket. It appears in a few mechanical and engineering contexts, often in conjunction with the tabernacle and its components, as well as many physiological uses such as “the palm of the hand”, “the ball of the foot” and “the socket of the hip”.

Oddly, the word aden is also translated as “socket”
