'lofen' (pronounced 'loten') is a minor character who appears seven times in the ancient Hebrew texts.

There are two interesting facts about this. Firstly, he appears in a genealogical record of the descendants of Esau which is repeated in the book of Genesis¹⁾ and in 1 Chronicles²⁾

Secondly, one of his sons hemem is mentioned in both of these passages with different spellings, a point which is discussed further on his page.
