roeh

This is an old revision of the document!

roeh

רוה

'roeh' is commonly pronounced “ruach”, and thought to mean “the Holy Spirit”.

However, many instances of the word seem to refer to a physical object rather than a spiritual entity.

One such instance is the word's first appearance in Genesis 1:1. Traditional translated as “the Spirit of God hovered over the face of the deep”. Our rendition keeping close to the Hebrew etymology reads as follows:

the Roeh Alehim orbited the edge.

We are presented with an object that is moving in three dimensional space. A physical object on an orbital trajectory. It seems to follow Newtonian physics.
