A new division has been established.

Berasit is an ancient Hebrew word that means:

“the establishment of a division”

It is a founding. It is a dividing. It is a separation.

It is a NEW thing.

Berasit.org has been established to divide between old incorrect assumptions, doctrines, and dogma, and establish a path forward into truth based on correct understandings of ancient writings.

The Berasit Bible is a brand new type of Bible for the modern thinker. We have thrown away two millennia of false assumptions and are taking a fresh look at the actual Hebrew texts only, ignoring the mistakes that have crept in through myriad errors in the Greek, Latin, German, and early English translation efforts.

The Berasit Bible is not a paraphrase, but a direct translation. (see the Translation page for more details)

Here is a sample verse from a beta version Berasit Translation. It is one of the most widely-known scriptures; the opening verse from Genesis chapter 1:

Hebrew: בְּרֵאשִׁ֖ית בָּרָ֣א אֱלֹהִ֑ים אֵ֥ת הַשָּׁמַ֖יִם וְאֵ֥ת הָאָֽרֶץ׃

Transliteration: berasit bera alehim et shemim aretz

Typical translations: In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.

Berasit translation (beta version): The established division divided between the immigrants and the legendary ones of earth.

– Genesis 1:1

Why is the Berasit version so different from the typical translations? It’s because we are reading the Hebrew words exactly for what they actually mean. Unbelievably, this straight-forward approach is NOT how every other Bible translation was implemented.

This first sentence of the ancient scripture opens with the word ‘berasit‘. Typically, this is translated into English as “In the beginning…”

This interpretation is not entirely accurate.

Although it is true that ‘berasit’ does refer to a time of beginning, this particular word is reserved for a very specific type of beginning. It is not used for beginnings in general. It is always used when speaking very specifically about the beginning of an era of authority, usually the coronation of a king. In a slightly more general sense, it indicates the establishment of a division of authority in time and place. It is used to establish territorial borders and to signal new dynasties.

The subject of the sentence is ‘Alehim’, aka. “the Elohim”, a plural proper noun whose root word is ‘al‘, meaning “to”. The direct translation of ‘Alehim‘ is “the ‘to’ ones” or “the ‘to’ people”, with the implication of the overall meaning of the word being the people who “came to here”, or “the immigrants”. This word has traditionally been translated erroneously to mean “God”. There is no etymological evidence to support such a translation.

The verb in this sentence is ‘bera‘ which means “divide”. The action in this verse is not creation, but division.

The sentence includes an additional noun in the sentence, translated here as “the legendary ones”, from the word ‘semim‘, built upon the root ‘sem‘ meaning fame (or infamy). Traditionally this word is incorrectly translated it as “sky” or “the heavens”. The plural proper noun form is clearly evidenced by the Hebrew suffix ‘im‘, indicating that this is actually the name of a group of people. This is the same word form that indicates the Alehim are a plural people group. Some modern translators, realizing this, have begun to translate ‘semim’ as “sky people”, but this is also incorrect, given that it is built upon the wrong root word. A better interpretation is “famous ones” or “legendary ones”.

The only word int his verse that has ever been translated correctly in any existing version of the Bible is the final word of the sentence: ‘aretz‘, which means “Earth”, or taken more broadly, “territory”.

It is clear that this verse is about events that took place on Earth, long ago. These events have, for reasons unknown, been hidden under a mask of false pretense and incorrect translation. Why?What is the real story? Join us as we explore the hidden details of these events that took place long ago…
