Ostensibly 'acek' means “ascend” or more probably “pulled up”. However, very little contextual evidence exists for this interpretation, as it is a hapax legomenon attested only by a much later Aramaic form.

Typically the act of ascension is signified by yel, leaving some doubt as to the true meaning of 'acek'.
