aramaic

The books of Ezra and Daniel are written in Aramaic, a distinct dialect of Hebrew that differs somewhat from other books. Thus, many words (or variants) found in Ezra and Daniel are found exclusively in Ezra and Daniel. One section of Jeremiah is also written in Aramaic.

For example, the word Semim is consistently spelled 'semia' in these books.

These Aramaic books are not in scope of this Hebrew Dictionary.
