ציון

Often pronounced “Zion”, tsiun is normally taken to mean roughly equivalent to ishrael as a people group, or (perhaps?) symbolically as a place “mount Zion”

This term is not used prior to the monarchic period, thus it likely refers back in time to the post-Exodus period of wandering in the desert which likely occurred in the Sinai peninsula.
