Based on the root word hedes, 'hedesim' can be interpreted using the usual method of addressing the im suffix to yield “the Moon People”, or perhaps “the New Ones”, but it is probably more accurate to interpret it as a simple pluralization of hedes (“moon”/“month”) with a meaning of “months”.
