The shihim are a fascinating group of inhabitants of earth, mentioned in only in the books of Genesis and Job.
the root word is שיח (shih), meaning “speak” and so the shihim are “the speaking ones”.
Strong's concordance inexplicably separates a four instances of shih (Strongnumber 7878) into a separate number (7880) and assigns it the meaning of “bush”. See Strong errors
genesis2:5 - before any shih of the field was in the earth and any herb of the field before had grown
genesis21:15 - she placed the boy under one hashihim (this is one example where the ha prefix might actually mean “of”)
job30:4 - Who pluck mallow by the shih and roots [for] broom tree their food
job30:7 - Among the shihim they brayed Under the nettles they nestled
actually, there is a glaring mistake made here in that, one of the cases of 7880 actually keeps the meaning of “speak”
For in Job 12:8 we have: “speak to the earth and it will teach you
